Alliance of 4 Spanish Universities (A-4U) will have Further Collaborations with Isfahan University of Technology
The representatives of Alliance of 4 Spanish Universities (A-4U) visited the Isfahan University of Technology on Sunday 4th of October 2015. Based on the honorable guests' request and because of their specialty the meeting has been held at the IUT Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. In this meeting, Prof. Mahboobi Soofiani, the Director of International & Scientific Cooperation Office, introduced IUT briefly and reciprocally the A-4U has been introduced to the IUT delegates.
The A-4U delegates was consists of Prof. Daniel Franco, Dean of Engineering School, University Autonoma de Barcelona, Prof. Basil Taha Ahmed, University Autonoma de Madrid, Prof. Matilde Sanchez Fernandez, Vice-Rector for International Relations, University Carlos III in Madrid and Prof. Angel Lozano, Vice Rector for Research, University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. A-4U is an Alliance that has been set up between four leading Spanish public Universities, two in Madrid (Autónoma University of Madrid and Universidad Carlos III) and two in Barcelona (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra), with excellent results in scientific research, who stand out as beacons of academic quality and who are deeply committed to their international profile. The main goal of the alliance is to promote international academic excellence by carrying out joint actions on research projects, academic and international mobility of teaching and research staff, and international relations. During this meeting IUT and A-4U discussed about the possible opportunities to establish a mutual scientific collaboration and on the ways of promoting bilateral academic ties in particular concerning the exchange of students and professors for short term research programs. It was also announced that a MoU will be signed by the Presidents which will serve as a platform for future academic collaboration.
