Isfahan University of Technology expands its scientific collaboration with National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), Italy.
Professor Fernando Ferroni, President of INFN visited Isfahan University of Technology, on March 2, 2016. During this visit, Prof. Ferroni has a meeting with IUT vice president for student affairs, Prof. Seyedzafarollah Kalantari and other IUT officials.
Prof. Ferroni had a presentation about INFN and its scientific activities then participants had discussions about the ways of mutual collaboration between IUT and INFN such as providing sabbatical opportunities for IUT faculty members and PhD students by INFN and cooperation in research projects.
At the end of this meeting, a MOU has been signed between IUT and INFN by Prof. Ferroni and Prof. Kalantari.
The Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) (National Institute for Nuclear Physics) is the coordinating institution for nuclear, particle and astroparticle physics in Italy. It was founded on 8 August 1951, to further the nuclear physics research tradition initiated by Enrico Fermi in Rome, in the 1930s. The INFN collaborates with CERN, Fermilab and various other laboratories in the world. In recent years it has provided important contributions to Grid computing.
